Wakefield Council's recruitment website is changing

On  Sunday 2 December 2012 Wakefield Council will be updating its recruitment job pages.  Although the new site will look and feel different, the overall function of searching for jobs and applying for vacancies on-line at this stage will remain the same.

How will this affect me?

As a job account holder the update will mean that any current data held on your personal job account, including previously submitted and partically completed applications, will no longer be accessible after the update and will subsequently be deleted in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Should you therefore require any data from your current personal job account, you should seek to extract it prior to the update.

Following the update, if you wish to apply for a vacancy, you will be prompted to create a new personal job account.  Once a new job account has been created, any new electronic applications you submit will be saved on your personal account for future reference.

Please note that although the update is scheduled for 2 December 2012, it may take a couple of days before the site is fully implemented.

Additional information to note when applying for vacancies at Wakefield Council:

Wakefield Council actively supports the redeployment of its employees during times of organisational change.  As a consequence all advertised positions may at the Council's discretion be placed on hold or removed.  Should this occur, all applicants will be notified accordingly.

Wakefield Council is a participating organisation in the National Fraud Initiative. If you are successful in your application, as your employer, the Council will share your payroll data both within the Council and with other local authorities for the purpose of preventing and detecting fraud.
